Last weekend Renan Borges, Brazilian Top Team Black Belt, did such a great job playing his game against some of the best grapplers in the world in New York City.
The Ultimate Absolute is a 16 men tournament competing for a U$ 10,000 cash prize plus a U$ 1,000 submission bonus.
First round Renan won by 5 x 0 against multiple time bjj world champion Bruno Malfacine and in the second round he defeated Wilson Reis (bjj world champ and Bellator fighter) by 9 X2 .
Celsinho Vinicius stopped Renan in the semi but he finished the tournament in 3rd place.
Great job by Renan and great coaching by Daniel Gazoni (BTT Boston head coach).

The BTT Long Beach Kids came to war ready today at the 2012 Kids PanAms.
All in all 22 kids brought home 16 medals.
Our standout fighter was Mathew Mendoza, who won his 3 fights by 3 submissions.
We stand a good chance of placing as a team, and for schools under 1 roof (not affiliates) we undoubtedly would place first.
Individual results follow.

The Tournament was an idea of Master Daniel Gazoni and with a big help from Nathalia Azzof among others it was a big success.
